Understanding margin

Required Margin is NOT the cost of the trade — it's collateral your broker holds.

Formula: Margin = (Units × Price) ÷ Leverage

Example: 1 lot EUR/USD at 1.0850 with 1:100 leverage = (100,000 × 1.0850) ÷ 100 = $1,085 margin
